(WESTFORD – May 3, 2018) Yesterday, the Ethics Commission found Senator Stanley Rosenberg guilty of “significant failure of judgement and leadership.” Today, Senator Rosenberg must resign.
The people of Massachusetts entrusted Senator Rosenberg to represent their best interests with integrity, and he has violated that trust. Fully aware of his transgressions, he allowed his colleagues to waste valuable taxpayer money on this investigation, which has been an unfair distraction for hard-working legislators on Beacon Hill trying to focus their attention on important issues, like our jobs, our students, and fighting the opioid crisis.
We simply cannot tolerate this abuse of power. Public service is a privilege, and I believe Senator Rosenberg has lost that privilege.
I have worked my entire life to earn the trust of my colleagues and constituents by being hardworking, transparent, and ethical. You may not agree with me on every issue—and this is okay—but If given the privilege to serve you, I promise you that I will do my job, and I will always make you proud that I am your State Senator.
