WESTFORD (July 26, 2018) Terry Ryan, state senate candidate for the First Middlesex District, today received the endorsement of the IAFF Local 3126 Westford Firefighters, who called Ryan “the strongest voice for this district.”
Ryan, an engineer and public servant who lives in Westford, is running for the seat vacated by Senator Eileen Donoghue. The First Middlesex District serves the city of Lowell and the towns of Dunstable, Groton, Pepperell, Tyngsboro, and Westford.
“We have looked closely at the candidates in this race, and Terry Ryan is the clear choice,” said Dave Greenwood, President of Local 3126 Westford Firefighters. “Terry knows this town, knows this district, and we believe he will be a strong and effective advocate, fighting for the issues that are important to us— access to the equipment and funding we need to continue to protect members of our community, supporting a safe work environment, and ensuring that our men and women get home safely after every shift.”
An engineer for thirty years with Raytheon Company and Lucent Technologies, Ryan has lived, worked, and served the people of the First Middlesex District his entire life, including six years on the Westford School Committee. He and his wife Kerry are raising three school-aged children in Westford.
“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement and support of the brave men and women of Local 3126,” Ryan said. “These are the heroes who put their lives on the line every day to protect the people of Westford. As state senator, I will work hard to represent them and all the first responders of our district, ensuring they have the resources they need to do their jobs and protect themselves as well as the people they serve.”
